Use of electronic cigarettes, or vaping, nearly doubled among Kentucky youths from 2016 to 2018, even as state and local officials escalate efforts to curb the increasingly popular practice among teens.

High school seniors reported the highest use of e-cigarettes, with nearly 27% reporting in 2018 that they had tried the product that contains nicotine, the addictive drug found in tobacco, according to a state public health survey of youth behaviors conducted every other year.
